Athletes must be strong to continue on the journey ahead.
That was the view put forward by former president of the Barbados Olympic Association, Steve Stoute, following the postponement of the 32nd Olympiad due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“For it to be pushed back was a major disappointment and it will certainly take a lot of willpower to start all over again,” he told WEEKEND SPORT.
“Some athletes – and I am not talking about Barbados athletes, I am talking about the world as a whole – may just get fed up and call it a day. Many athletes were training strenuously for the games this year and even put their lives on hold.” (RG)
