Vendors at Cheapside, The City are singing a different tune today.
Yesterday, they were told by market officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Royal Barbados Police Force to pack up their produce and return when a public announcement was made.
But before noon yesterday, roadside vendors were allocated their spots and some were out by 5:30 a.m. today to set up.
When a Nation team visited the area around 9:30 a.m., vendors were selling produce from the newly allocated spaces and customers came and went in an orderly fashion.
Some vendors said they were happy with the new system, adding that they liked the orderly and calm environment
Police officers were also on site overseeing the operations. (SB)
