Despite a lengthy plea and promises that the accused could relocate to a different address, the man charged with chopping a woman’s hand was remanded by the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Shurland Orlando Davis, 50, of Brereton, St Philip, was not required to plead that with intent to maim, disfigure or disable Althea Burke, he unlawfully wounded her on April 21.
Prosecutor Sergeant Edwin Pinder objected to bail, adding the complainant was still hospitalised.
He said investigations were ongoing into the incident which allegedly occurred around 8 a.m. in the presence of the complainant’s son. (HLE)
