One new COVID-19 case, one recovery

One person tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) yesterday and one person will be discharged from isolation after two consecutive negative tests for the viral illness, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

A press release today said: “In an escalation of testing, the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 105 tests. The new positive is a 54-year-old Barbadian woman who came into contact with known cases.”

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Barbados now stands at 77. Six people have died, 31 have recovered and 40 remain in isolation. A total of 1 327 tests have been carried out at the public health laboratory since February 11. (BGIS)
