Police have recovered a car from The Careenage with a man’s body inside.
Spokesman Inspector Rodney Inniss said the vehicle was finally pulled from the water about 1:40 p.m.
They received the report from the Coast Guard around 7:50 a.m. that a vehicle had been spotted in the water near the Screw Docks.
Inniss said the body has not been identified, but there are some people on the scene who suspect the man may be a relative.
He appealed to members of the public who may have information to contact police via emergency number 211, any police station or the Criminal Investigation Department at 430-7189.
