The pain in his recently healed arm was so intense that Dave Rudolph DaCosta Arthur walked from Greens in St George to Martindale’s Road, St Michael, just to get his medication.
However, neither police, who caught him at 4:05 a.m. in Belleville, St Michael, nor Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes believed him, and he ended up being fined for breaching the national curfew when he appeared in the District “D” Magistrates Court on Monday.
Arthur, 44, of Glebe Land, St George, pleaded guilty to the charge that he contravened Paragraph 21 of Emergency Management (COVID-19) Curfew (No 3) Directive 2020, in that there being a curfew imposed in Barbados requiring every person to remain indoors between April 15 and midnight on May 3, he remained outdoors at 4:05 a.m. on 10th Avenue, Belleville, on April 26, without a reasonable explanation.
