FISHERFOLK yesterday donated over 1 000 pounds of fish to the Government to assist with feeding the vulnerable, elderly and those with disabilities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The catch was handed over to Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Cynthia Forde, and Minister of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy Kirk Humphrey, at the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex.

Humphrey lauded the efforts of the fishermen, one of whom who came up with the idea for the initiative.

“People are finding it very challenging to be able to feed themselves and their families. Any assistance we get from anyone at this time would be really appreciated,” he said. (RA)
