Sadness in River Land after shooting

It was a sombre atmosphere when a Nation team visited the River Land, St Philip, community where three people were shot dead in the wee hours of this morning.

Police have not yet identified the deceased but said they were a 42-year-old woman, her 24-year-old son and another 23-year-old male.

Family and friends were consoling each other as tears flowed.

Residents were tight-lipped about the situation and family members said they were not in a position to speak.

However, one neighbour who did not want to be identified, said she was concerned about the violence in the area because there are many children who live in the neighbourhood.

She said the incident had shaken up the community and everyone was feeling sad. (SB)
