Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic is still preaching caution even though the COVID-19 curve has flattened.
The minister said he was pleased the vast majority of Barbadians adhered to the imposition of the curfew 50 days ago, noting this created the environment for containment in the spread.
But he cautioned people should follow the protocols to protect themselves, their loved ones and by extension the community.
“The curfew on its own will not stop the spread of the virus in the same way that the easing of restrictions to facilitate economic activity on its own will not cause a spike in cases. The glue that holds everything together is the adherence to public health protocols – personal hygiene, physical distancing, sanitising commonly used areas and equipment, and reporting to health officials anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms,” said Bostic yesterday.
