Bradshaw urges parents to be vigilant

Virtual teaching will continue and the Ministry of Education is urging more parents to be vigilant about their children’s activity online.

Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw made the suggestion yesterday during a press conference at the Ministry’s Elsie Payne Complex at Constitution Road, St Michael when asked if they had received reports that pornography had been uploaded to the G-suite platform, which the ministry is utilising for e-learning.

While making it clear the ministry did not upload such content, Bradshaw said parents had some responsibility to guide the students.

“Pornography is out there and it didn’t take being in a virtual classroom for students to discover it but what I’ve said to the unions and the [information communication technology team] is that we can educate parents about the dangers and the ways to block the sites. (TG)
