The Ministry of Health and Wellness has tested 27 of the 28 listed members of a Bridgetown church where four members tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

All of the other church members have tested negative so far, according to a statement issued through Barbados Government Information Service.

Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Anton Best, said there was no evidence at this time to support the allegation that the church had defied the ban on church meetings, which went into effect on March 26, when Barbados declared a public health emergency, as a result of COVID-19.

Best explained that the investigation was ongoing, and aggressive contact tracing continues to locate anyone who may have been in contact with the confirmed cases. (BGIS)
