UPDATE: Policeman shot

Police are investigating the shooting of an officer on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 about 11:45 a.m.

According to a statement from police, about 11:45 a.m. officers were on duty along Henley Road, St John, in the area of Henley Plantation. The police officers challenged an individual who opened fire, injuring one.

The officer sustained injuries to the left forearm and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention. They are not life threatening.

The name of the police officer is being withheld.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, who is said to be short and stocky, of light complexion, wearing a green and white T-shirt and short green pants.
