All staff members of the Broad Street Branch of Republic Bank Barbados Limited, along with staff who provided assistance at the branch during the last two weeks have tested negative for COVID-19.
They were tested after management was informed by public health officials on Tuesday that a customer who visited the branch the previous week had subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
Tests were conducted by health officials on Wednesday and Friday, the bank said in a release
“The negative test results are an indication that the protocols which the Bank has adopted have been effective.
“The Bank will continue to practice intense sanitisation in all areas and minimise interaction between departments. All members of the Republic Team will continue to stringently adhere to the use of PPE and personal hygiene protocols. All customers must wear masks in order to enter the bank and adhere to physical distancing rules.”
The release indicated the bank was dedicated to maintaining the safety of staff and customers and would continue to “strictly enforce our hygiene protocols” while being guided by the public health officials. (PR/SAT)
