No new virus cases today

The 80 people who were tested for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) yesterday were all negative for the viral illness.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory has now surpassed the 6 000 mark, recording 6 005 tests as of yesterday, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

A statement from the ministry said no one will be released from the Harrison Point, St Lucy isolation facility today. The number of COVID-positive patients resident there remains at four.

Since the beginning of the outbreak in Barbados on March 16, 92 people have been diagnosed, 81 people have recovered and seven succumbed to the virus. (BGIS)
