UPDATE: Body found in quarry

The decomposing body of a young black man was discovered at the bottom of a 150-foot quarry at Lower Estate, St Michael, earlier today.

About 3:45 p.m., police received a telephone report about the body, which was discovered by a tractor operator who was working at the quarry.

It is said to be in an advanced state of decomposition.

The quarry is owned by businessman Anderson Cherry, who used it as a central point to recycle various materials before it was closed by Government.

He was on site while police were conducting preliminary investigations.

Meanwhile, lawmen say anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242, or any Police Station. (PR/SAT)
