The Royal Barbados Police Force is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Joyann Patricia Griffith.
Griffith, 45, of Green Park Lane, St Michael was last seen on Thursday, June 11, by her cousin Rodney Griffith and was reported missing to the police on Wednesday, June 17, by her stepsister Gailann Selman after efforts by the family to contact her proved unsuccessful.
A statement from police today said, occasionally, she stays with friends who visit the island.
“During these times, she keeps in contact with the family via telephone. She is also known to sell fish at Baxter’s Road, St Michael on weekends,” the statement said.
Griffith is five feet, two inches tall, of dark complexion and medium build, with a round features. She has a split between her upper front teeth and each ear is pierced once. She is full-breasted and has an erect appearance. Griffith has a pleasant manner, speaks with a Barbadian accent and is in the habit of sucking her tongue.
When last seen, Griffith was wearing a white ‘T’ shirt, a pair of long, blue denim pants and a pair of tiger-striped slippers. Her hair was in an afro puff style held in place by an elastic band.
Police said on June 17 the missing woman’s daughter attempted to contact her via telephone but was unsuccessful. As a result, Griffith’s stepsister Selman visited her residence and discovered that the missing woman had not been there since leaving on June 11.
Selman reported the matter to the Central Police Station. Investigations are ongoing.
