Sahara Dust reminder

Share post:

A significant Sahara Dust outbreak is continuing to affect Barbados and the marine area.

Barbados Meteorological Services issued an alert which is valid today from 8 a.m. and will be terminated at 3 p.m. or sooner if conditions warrant.

The alert advised people with respiratory issues or allergies to travel with, or have close at hand, all prescribed medications in case of an emergency.

In addition, “marine users should stay close to shore, particularly if GPS is not in use on the vessel and closely monitor forecasts for critical updates”. (PR)
