DELINQUENT MOTHERS and fathers got a tongue-lashing on June 22 from an attorney who said many abdicate their parental responsibilities and then blame the system when their children run afoul of the law.

“Far too many mothers and fathers feel that it okay to just copulate and get children and believe that the task of raising them should be someone else’s responsibility.

“Far too often, they are absent when it matters most,” attorney Arthur Holder declared.

The comments came as Holder, a former child care officer at the Child Care Board and who has a Master’s in social work, was speaking on behalf of 20-year-old Jahzeel Akeem Ward. (HLE)
