Some workers at Purity Bakeries are currently in discussion with their union representatives on the compound at Collymore Rock, St Michael.

Earlier this morning, they huddled behind the closed gate in talks with deputy general secretary of the Barbados Workers Union, Dwaine Paul.

Although both the gates and the pastry shop have since reopened, industrial action continues at the bakery.

Among the issues workers are said to be discussing include recent pay cuts and an extended reduction in hours.

One of the workers said they agreed to take the cut because of COVID-19 with the intention of it being temporary. (TG)
