Barbadian ambassador, superstar and entrepreneur Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty’ took to Instagram today to express admiration for Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and to say thank you for her kind words.

Rihanna, whom Mottley thanked on Tuesday for the donation of 4 000 tablets to the Ministry of Education, said she is a “fan” of the Prime Minister. Rihanna also said it was an honour to be an ambassador of Barbados.

“Your Bajan-ness, your commitment to this country, your commitment to this region in the context of building climaite resilience has not gone unnoticed. The world has watched you be that extraordinary Bajan, that extraordinary global citizen that has not forgotten that their roots are right here in Barbados,” Mottley also said of Rihanna on Tuesday.

The tablets were donated by Rihanna’s charity the Clara Lionel Foundation in association with the Jack Dorsey Start Small Foundation to assist with the delivery of education digitally. Rihana also thanked her brother Rorrey Fenty for spearheading the project to donate the tablets.

Teaching transitioned online after schools were closed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Rihanna has 84.6 million followers on Instagram. (KG)
