Barbadians hoping to visit their loved ones incarcerated at Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds, will have to wait a while longer to do so.
Minister of Home Affairs Edmund Hinkson told the media yesterday a decision had not yet been made on when visits would resume.
“It’s something we are in discussions with the prison about, but I want to assure you, we are looking at it,” he said.
“If one person in prison gets COVID-19, it could spread more easily that it could spread in the general population. So, we are urging patience in this matter.”
Hinkson pointed to the effectiveness of the decision to restrict visitors to the facility during the pandemic, noting that no one in prison contracted the virus. (DB)
