A man was shot while police officers were responding to an incident at Big Red Bar, Greens, St George about 10:55 p.m. on Saturday.
Police received a report that a man was armed with a firearm while at Big Red Bar.
“On arrival the man was identified and confronted. He was instructed by police officers to drop the weapon, which he refused and pointed the weapon in the direction of one of the officers. He was shot in the area of the abdomen by police. He was subsequently transported to the QEH [Queen Elizabeth Hospital] for emergency medical attention. He underwent surgery and is said to be in stable condition at the . . . QEH,” a statement said.
