Protocols related to public gatherings will be relaxed on July 24 and August 1, but this will depend on the size of proposed venues.

Director of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit, Ronald Chapman, said in a media statement today that on those two days, gatherings beyond the current 500-person limit will be permitted.

Applications for permission can be made to the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit, which may be reached at [email protected].

Permission is also required for all public and entertainment events up to a maximum of 500 people.

Chapman said while the protocol allowed for gatherings of up to 500, permission was not automatic, since the number of people permitted to gather depended on the size of the public venue and its capacity to allow for physical distancing. (BGIS)
