Prime Minister Mia Mottley is urging Barbadians to prepare for Tropical Storm Gonzalo and standby for any announcement from Government on Thursday regarding the system swirling across the Atlantic Ocean.

On Wednesday evening when she addressed the nation from Ilaro Court, Mottley said instead of the usual Cabinet meeting on Thursday morning, they would meet to discuss the approach to the storm.

She said officials from the Ministry of Public Works and other ministries spent the day doing assessments and making adjustments and that information would be used to make any further decisions.

However, she urged everyone to take their own precautions at the household level.

The Barbados Meteorological Services says the current forecast tracks suggest that the centre of Gonzalo should pass about 90 miles or 145 km to the south of Barbados on Saturday morning. (SAT)
