The Clement Payne Movement will commemorate Barbados’ Day of National Significance with speeches and cultural presentations on Sunday on CBC TV 8, commencing at 4 p.m.
The staging of this event will not be held at Golden Square, Probyn Street, as previously advertised, due to disruptions caused by the recent inclement weather.
The virtual commemoration will include speeches by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley; Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong; Cuba’s Ambassador to Barbados, Sergio Jorge Pastrana; Minister with responsibility for Culture, John King, and leaders of the Barbados Workers Union and National Union of Public Workers.
The Day of National Significance honours Barbados’ involvement in the historic Caribbean labour rebellions of the 1930s. (PR)
