Toronto – Veteran jockey Patrick Husbands rode a double at Woodbine to headline strong Barbadian success at the prestigious western Canada racing oval on Saturday.
The 47-year-old won with 8-1 chance Hatmaker Holiday in Race 7 before returning to win the last event on the ten-race card with favourite Marjorie’s Dream.
Chris Husbands, who is of no relation to Patrick, also picked up a win in Race 2 with 5-1 bet Pluie d’Avril, while Keveh Nicholls won Race 9 with 5-1 chance Saltini.
A seven-time champion at Woodbine, the inimitable Patrick Husbands opened his account in a six-furlong sprint when he made all the running with brown filly Hatmaker Holiday to beat the two-year-old fillies by one-and-a-half lengths. (CMC)
