The Royal Barbados Police Force is seeking the assistance of the public in locating Zakayla Jacintha Jazmine Seale, 13, of Sherbourne #1, St John.

Police said Zakayla was reported missing by her mother Akila Billingy on Sunday after she left home about 2 p.m. and did not return.

She is known to frequent areas around Bridgetown such as John Beckles Drive, the bus-stop behind the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Probyn Street.

“Zakayla is about 4 feet 1-inch-tall, stoutly built and has a dark complexion. She has a round-shaped face, large forehead, a short thick neck, medium-sized ears, both pierced once, small brown eyes, thin eyebrows, thick lips and a large nose. She also has black shoulder-length straightened hair. She has drooping shoulders and short arms and legs that give her a stooped appearance. She is in the habit of swinging her arms when walking,” a statement from police said.

She speaks in a light voice and has a pleasant demeanour.

When last seen, her outfit included a blue and black striped t-shirt and a pair of brown ‘Lugz’ slippers.

Police said on Sunday Billingy was home with her children, including Zakayla. She fell asleep at around 1 p.m. but was awoken about 2 p.m. by one of the other children who told her that a white car had driven away from the residence and that Zakayla was not at home.

Billingy searched unsuccessfully for Zakayla and later reported to officers at the District ‘C’ Police Station, where an investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information relative toZakayla’s whereabouts can contact the District ‘C’ Police Station at telephone number 1 (246) 416-8200; Emergency number 211; Crime Stoppers at 1-800 –TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station. (PR)
