‘Bashment Monkey’ appears in Court

Paul Dwight Alleyne pleaded not guilty in connection with nine counts stemming from an incident on the compound of Trans-Tech Inc. Kendal Hill, Christ Church, on August 15.

Alleyne, 43, of Eckstein Village, Tudor Bridge, St Michael, who is commonly known as Bashment Monkey, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Magistrate Elwood Watts at the Oistins Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He was granted bail to the sum of $7 500 with one surety and is scheduled to reappear at the same court on November 17, 2020.

Alleyne was charged with four counts of criminal damage, two counts of assault, and count each of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, no insurance and fraudulent use of number plates.

Video of the incident showing a public service vehicle, a forklift, a forklift driver and a man who appeared to be armed, was widely circulated on social media. (PR/SAT)
