A serious shooting incident has left a St Michael community shaken.

A few of the residents who spoke to Nation News said the gun violence had them scared and one woman said she wished she could “move to the mountains” to get away from it.

Police are investigating the gun-related incident which took place Thursday evening along Perfection Road, Bush Hall, St Michael.

Initial reports said a man was shot in the head and killed but police public relations officer, acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, said this was not the case.

“The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. where we received a report of gunshots in the area and a man was shot in the head or face. We initially thought the man had been killed, but we now understand he was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle.”

Police were at the scene and at the hospital trying to ascertain what happened, Inniss added. (CA)
