The cutlass-wielding man who sent people in Jubilee Gardens scampering as he tried to collect money he had used to buy drugs was jailed for six months when he appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Jamar Kemar Waldron, a self-employed 28-year-old of Hannay’s Valley, Christ Church, pleaded guilty to having a cutlass – an offensive weapon – in Jubilee Gardens, and causing a disturbance in the same place on August 29.
Prosecutor Sergeant Robert Jones said it was around 11 a.m. when Waldron accosted someone he knew as “Red Man” and told him: “You owe me money. I buy dope for you and I was looking for you every since.”
He then drew a cutlass from a bag he was carrying, advanced on “Red Man” and told him: “I gine chop you up.” (HLE)
