Fourteen-year-old St Michael School student Adam King earned the right to battle for four crowns when the semi-finals of the C.O. Williams Construction Limited National Junior Tennis Tournament were played yesterday at the National Tennis Centre.

The No. 1 ranked player King ruled over Christian Gill 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the boys’ under-16 finals. King had already qualified for the under-18 boys’ finals as well as the under-16 and 18 doubles finals.

He will team up with Curt Seifert in the under-18s and Nathanael Gill in the under-16s.

King will face a serious threat in his bid to claim the under-18 crown with the defending champion and recently capped Davis Cup player Stephen Slocombe predictably making the finals by ousting Xavier Peter-Gooding 6-3, 6-1. Last year, Slocombe grabbed the four crowns which King is hoping to capture this year. (KB)
