Man rescued from bottom of cliff

A man was rescued from the bottom of a cliff at Content Cot, St Philip, on Tuesday around 12:48 a.m.

Police at District C say they received a report from an anonymous caller around 11:40 p.m. on Monday night that a male voice was heard calling for help at the bottom of the cliff.

The man was rescued with assistance from a team from the Barbados Fire Service led by Divisional Officer Errol Gaskin, comprising nine fire officers in two tenders.

Police have not released the name of the man, but say he had injuries to his body and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance for medical attention.

An investigation was launched into the incident and anyone who has any information that can assist, is asked to contact District C Police Station at 416-8200, Police Emergency 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or any police station. (PR/SAT)
