One day after 17-year-old St Michael School student Kyle Griffith pressured No. 1 seed Russell Moseley in the ICBL Open Tennis Nationals at the Tennis Centre, Wildey, another SMS lad, Adam King, took the challenge to No. 2 seed Kaipo Marshall.

On Tuesday night, King, 14, who last week won the Boys’ Under-16 and Under-18 doubles as well as the Under-16 singles, showed no fear in facing the confident Davis Cup player.

Marshall had to dig deep to pull off the win 6-2, 7-6.

Marshall stamped his authority in the first set, with his serves and ground strokes overpowering the smaller King.  (KB)
