Transport Board general manager Fabian Wharton is reporting a smooth start to the Michaelmas Term today.

After six months away from the physical classroom, some schoolchildren returned.

However, the usual hustle and bustle was not there.

“We did have one or two delays. We were out by ten to 15 minutes of what we wanted to be in terms of arriving at the schools. We would have deployed all of our senior management across the network.

“I was tasked with going to Springer Memorial, Parkinson Memorial, as well as passing through Oistins and checking certain points along the routes,” he explained.

A check at both the Fairchild Street and Princess Alice bus terminals showed a few children awaiting transportation to school. (RA)
