Toners unplug Chargers

The 2019 Goddard Enterprises Limited senior volleyball knockout queens Chargers suffered an upset loss while the league champions UWI Blackbirds continued their unbeaten run when the preliminary action continued on Sunday night at the Wildey Gymnasium.

Chargers, who were looking for their second successive victory, suffered at the hands of Burger King Clapham Toners – or, more appropriately, the hands of Barbados player Ashley Jordan.

Jordan was just as impressive last Monday attacking and defending against Deacons but on that occasion she could not drag Toners over the line.

On Sunday night, Jordan found greater support from her teammates to edge Chargers 25-18, 15-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-9.  (KB)
