Registry of landlords

The Welfare Department is creating a national registry of landlords and properties used for rental to vulnerable clients.

Chief Welfare Officer, Deborah Norville, explained that the aim was to utilise the registry to make electronic payments to landlords, in keeping with Government’s digitisation project.

“The registry will also allow us to easily reference places available for rent in quick time during a client crisis situation,” she said.

The Department is therefore inviting all landlords who currently conduct business with the agency to update and return their property and payment information to the Chief Welfare Officer by September 30. (BGIS)
