Defending champion driver Ian “WeeWee” Warren says the unpredictability of a RallyCross is the difference between winning and losing the BimmaCup RallyCross event today at the Vaucluse Raceway, St Thomas.
“The unique thing about the event is that we will be doing side-by-side-racing and that changes the complexion of everything that we do and then you have to factor in the ‘joker lap’ which creates a different dynamic with chicane [an obstacle] in the track, the joker lap becomes a bit more challenging and therefore you have to be more careful,” he noted.
Warren, who will be at the wheel of the WestLake/Benthams Farm & Garden/Quality Tyre BMW 318ti, is fresh from winning the title at the raceway’s 20th anniversary outing last month, says that the competition is still going to be stiff, despite the absence of arch-rival Ryan ‘Woody’ Wood, whose car will not be ready in time for the action.
