Walcott’s double delight

Jockey Rico Walcott continued to excel at Century Mile in Edmonton, Canada, scoring a brace and three third place finishes on Sunday’s card.

But it was a close call for compatriot Antonio Whitehall, who missed out on Stakes success when his mount, Dune d’Oro, agonisingly lost by a neck.

The meet’s runaway leader Walcott, with 61 wins, won the second and third races astride Factored In and Wedge Pond.

Installed favourites over the six furlongs Claiming sprint, the six-year-old roan gelding Factored In surged from the back to take the second race in 1:10.16 minute by two and a half lengths from the Rey Williams-ridden Trang. (LY)
