The start of the Barbados Cricket Legend Cup confirmed one thing that we already knew. Shai Hope is a stylish, classy, stroke-maker, who makes batting look quite easy.

Yesterday, in Match 1 of the Barbados Cricket Association’s triangular tournament at Kensington Oval, Hope demonstrated his seniority and superiority among his peers with a dominant hundred.

It led the Sir Wes Hall XI to 289 for seven off their 50 overs on a placid surface at The Mecca.

It was just enough, as they beat the Sir Garfield Sobers XI by just one run under the new Duckworth Lewis Stern method as they reached 262 for seven off 47 overs, when the game was curtailed due to bad light. (HE)
