Former Minister of Social Transformation Hamilton Lashley has condemned the move by officials from the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Maintenance to dismantle a business which recently sprang up in Halls Road, St Michael.

And he says the time has come for people to stop excluding such communities, and instead include young people who exhibit entrepreneurial exploits.

“I really feel the time has come when more palatable approaches must be taken before the relevant Government agencies move in to demolish illegal structures in such a dramatic fashion that would evoke the anger of residents in the various communities. I consider that approach to be primitive, drastic and dinosaur in nature,” Lashley told the Daily Nation.

Last week, owner of Millennium Auto Tints, Wayde Gale, said he had created Millennium Car Care for the youngsters in the neighbourhood to earn an honest dollar ahead of Christmas.
