THIS YEAR’S EDITION of Carols by Candlelight was a movie.

There was a big screen, popcorn, food, drinks lights, and action for the hundreds of people, young and old, families, friends, and pets who attended the historic staging of the Rotary Club of Barbados’ annual production at the Globe Drive-in on Monday night. Based on comments from the patrons to the MIDWEEK NATION team during the 6 p.m. show, they enjoyed it with most saying they usually attend it at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Ilaro Court, and saw no reason why they should not do so this year and give their support.

Instead of cancelling the show due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rotary Club decided to change the concept, bill it as Virtual Carols by Candlelight and allow patrons to still enjoy the “must-do event” on many of their Christmas calendars.
