Back in business

Some businesses have reopened after closing to allow for rigorous COVID-19 testing over the weekend.

However, president of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Trisha Tannis, has reminded all establishments not to drop their guard and if necessary, increase their safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.

Tannis told the DAILY NATION yesterday that although businesses were still enforcing many of the rules imposed last year, including temperature checks, hand sanitising and enforcing mask-wearing, she acknowledged that some places had become relaxed.

“The protocols didn’t stop but it would make sense to increase the protocols, because I have seen some slackening up. So we may need to clarify whether we still need to do the thermometer checks as well as hand sanitising because I think there was a bit of confusion there. (TG)
