Hours after it was reopened, the Black Rock Police Station was closed to conduct COVID-19 contact tracing involving a police officer attached to the station.

It is closed with immediate effect until further notice, police say. Just after 8 a.m., a notice was issued informing the public that the station had reopened for business after being closed for renovations at the end of last year.

This is the second police station to be affected by COVID-related issues this year.

On January 6, the Hastings/Worthing station was closed after an officer there tested positive for the viral illness. It underwent a thorough cleaning and reopened three days later. (PR/SAT)
