Gaping hole a big worry

A dangerous eyesore.

That is how Herman Joseph has described the large hole in front of his house in Passage Gardens, St Michael.

Yesterday, Joseph told the Saturday Sun he reported a burst main near his home on November 28 last year and a crew from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) fixed it.

However, he said they left the area in a “hazardous” state without filling in the hole they dug to reach the pipeline.

Joseph said the hole made the road impassable and dangerous, adding that waking every morning and seeing it was bothering him.

He said he also feared that part of his property was caving in as the area near the gaping hole was collapsing.

Efforts to reach a BWA representative for a comment were unsuccessful. (SB)
