New COVID cases continue to decline

Thirteen people were diagnosed with COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from the 418 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Meanwhile, 31 recovered from the virus, and the number of active cases continues to decline, now at 147.

The 13 people identified as COVID-19 positive comprise four men and nine women.

The island recorded 3 471 confirmed cases – 1 648 females and 1 823 males – and 3 285 people recovered from the virus since the first case was identified in March 2020.

The public health laboratory has so far completed 134 448 tests.

As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 1 493 people were vaccinated on Tuesday.

To date, 54 631 vaccinations were administered – 22 870 to men and 31 761 to women. (BGIS)
