Marshall clears the air

Attorney General Dale Marshall says no exemption has been given to pleasure craft to be operating and anyone doing so is breaking the law.

However, he added, there was the provision for owners of these vessels to maintain them.

Speaking on Starcom Network’s  call-in programme Down To Brass Tacks yesterday, Marshall cleared up queries from the public about the pleasure craft, restaurants’ longer opening times and the reopening of churches versus cinemas. His explanation followed claims that a water craft was “operating”, which was against the COVID-19 directives.

Marshall said the directives which went into effect from March 15 allowed most businesses to reopen following the February lockdown, but excluded bars, gyms, cinemas, yoga studious, pleasure craft and private boat charters. (AC)
