Calling the murder of Derek “Bhingy” Hunte a “brutal, callous, deliberate, cold-blooded” act, Justice Pamela Beckles sentenced Scott Colby Richardson Harewood to 38 years and his brother Stuart Kenny McMillan Harewood to 35 years in jail.

“There are a number of things that concern the court about this matter,” she said.

“The court is still astonished and bewildered by the fact that, of the two of you, not one of you could have been the voice of reason on June 3, 2014, and convince the other to look for some other way, some lawful way to resolve the dispute that you may have had with the deceased and, in so doing, spare his life.

“Society is concerned with the alarming incidents of firearm-related crimes and the message has to ring out loud and clear that crimes of this nature will not be tolerated.” (HLE)
