Mottley: Prince Philip’s service legendary

Following is a statement from Prime Minister Mia Amor on the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“I learnt with great sadness of the death of Prince Philip. His support to Her Majesty the Queen as her consort, his service to the UK and his many charities are legendary.

“The Duke of  Edinburgh Award scheme in particular has had an enormous impact on the young people of Barbados as on other parts of the world.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Barbados, I extend heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and members of the Royal Family.” (PR)
