Tribute to former US Ambassador Larry Palmer

Following is a statement from The United States Embassy on the death of Larry Palmer, former US Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS.

“The US Embassy community is saddened to learn of the passing of our colleague and friend Ambassador Larry Palmer.

“A career member of the US Foreign Service, Ambassador Palmer served as Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States from 2012-2015.

“He is fondly remembered for his larger-than-life personality, passion for education, and love for the people and cultures of the Caribbean.

“His life of service included work with the Peace Corps in Liberia and leadership at diplomatic posts throughout Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

“Our thoughts and sympathy are with his family and friends during this difficult time, and our Embassy community joins in mourning his loss.” (PR)
