Three new courts have been built at the Barbados Tennis Centre at a cost of about BDS$3 million.

After seven months, the Barbados Tennis Association (BTA) has been given a facelift with the construction of the new blue and green cold surfaces at the Wildey, St Michael facility.

The massive upgrade, funded by Maria Holder Memorial Trust, now means that the centre is a seven-court international complex.

“We are almost near to completion of our new facility. The courts are now finished and the lights have been installed. The firm that did the work for us has actually gone back. The courts are not going to be handed over to us until everything is finished though,” BTA president Dr Raymond Forde told MIDWEEK SPORT yesterday during a telephone interview. (AGB)
